Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) proudly hosted a send-off ceremony for two of its exemplary students, Ms. Keilah Cane and Mr. Jhomel Sansolis, who are set to embark on international academic journeys through the LIYAG International Academic and Cultural Exchange (I ACE) Program. The event, held on August 21, 2024 at CMC celebrated CMC\u2019s commitment to fostering global education, cultural exchange, and international partnerships.<\/p>\n
This meaningful ceremony was organized by PRISM (Passionate Individuals for Responsive & Strategic Internationalization towards Sustainable Development in Mindanao) in collaboration with the College of Accountancy, Business Management Education Student Council. These organizations spearheaded the event, reflecting the collective dedication of CMC\u2019s academic community to equip students with the skills and experiences necessary for global competence and cross-cultural engagement.<\/p>\n
The PRISM President, Mr. Mark Anthony Mutia, in his opening remarks, highlighted the significance of the event not just as a send-off, but as the beginning of a shared journey of learning and growth. He emphasized that Keilah\u2019s and Jhomel\u2019s experiences abroad are representative of the institution\u2019s broader mission to produce globally competent graduates who can thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.<\/p>\n
Director Erolle Linus T. Miranda of the Student Success Center delivered an inspiring message, beautifully encapsulating the essence of the LIYAG I ACE Program. He reflected on the word \u201cLIYAG,\u201d emphasizing its symbolic meaning of passion and dedication, which aligns with the students\u2019 pursuit of excellence on an international stage.<\/p>\n
The School President, Dr. Cynthia S. Asuncion, in her words of encouragement, offered personal advice to both students, reminding them of the importance of resilience and adaptability as they navigate new environments in Indonesia and Singapore. He wished them success and encouraged them to be torchbearers of CMC\u2019s values and aspirations in their respective host countries.<\/p>\n
CIAL staff Ms. Julie Mae Fuentes presented an overview of the exchange programs, detailing the specific opportunities awaiting Keilah in Indonesia and Jhomel in Singapore. The presentation underscored how these experiences are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education and fostering international partnerships.<\/p>\n
Both Keilah and Jhomel expressed their heartfelt gratitude to CMC, the organizers, and their peers. They shared their excitement and aspirations for the exchange programs, underscoring their commitment to representing CMC and the Philippines with pride and honor.<\/p>\n
A token of appreciation, symbolized by a clock, was presented by the CIAL Director Dr. Mark<\/p>\n
Gennesis B. Dela Cerna to Keilah and Jhomel. The clock represents the timeless support and encouragement from the CMC community, reminding them that no matter where they are, they are always part of the CMC family.<\/p>\n
The ceremony concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from the Dean of the College of Accountancy, Business Management Education, Dr. Maria Regina E. Carlos. Dr. Carlos reiterated the significance of these international programs and expressed gratitude to all who contributed to making this event a success. The ceremony ended with a group photo, capturing the momentous occasion.<\/p>\n
In a show of support, representative from the Kidapawan City Tourism Office was present, further highlighting the community\u2019s backing of these students as they embark on their international endeavors. This partnership showcases Kidapawan City\u2019s commitment to promoting global opportunities for its youth.<\/p>\n
Student leaders from various programs also shared their thoughts and well-wishes for Keilah and Jhomel.
